Regional Passport Offices (RPOs) in India are Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) offices that issue and manage passports for citizens in their jurisdictions. They work with the Central Passport Organization (CPO) and Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) under the Passports Act, 1967. India is also rolling out chip-enabled e-passports that store biometric data.
The Indian government will soon issue e-passports for its citizens, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These electronic passports make it simple to pass through immigration checkpoints throughout the globe while safeguarding biometric data.
